Personality:
Besides having the ability to manifest a bubblegum pink muscle guy to his side, Josuke is a pretty normal kid. He is an only child to a single mother and is the illegitimate child of Joseph Joestar. Until Josuke turned 16 he had never met his father and he did not have very much interest in doing so, blaming his absent father for his mother’s loneliness. It isn’t until after Joseph, an old man at this point, risks his life to save a baby that Josuke warms up to him. His relationship with Jotaro Kujo, technically his nephew despite Josuke being younger, was similar to his relationship with Joseph. He initially dismisses Jotaro’s request for help, saying that the Joestar family’s problems have nothing to do with him and it therefore is not his responsibility to help. Josuke does come to respect Jotaro and perhaps even looks up to him as a stand user.
Although it takes some time before Josuke is on good terms with his father and his family he holds his mother and her relatives in high regard. He is quite protective of his mother and has a lot of respect for his maternal grandfather, a police officer. It may be because of this relation that Josuke values justice like he does. His grandfather dies early in Part IV and it is this event that essentially convinces Josuke to participate in the fight against the evil stand users that have been appearing in his hometown.
The most striking physical feature of Josuke is his pompadour hairstyle, which he is fiercely protective of. When it is insulted he enters into a blind rage. According to Josuke he takes so much pride in his hairstyle because when he was an infant he and his mother were helped by a mysterious stranger with this kind of hairstyle. Since then he has idolized this person most notably in his hairstyle but also in his lifestyle. He makes conscious efforts to live his life as the hero that saved him would live. It is really when his pompadour is insulted and Josuke goes berserk that he is violent. Even his stand and its abilities are not especially suitable for combat. The inability to use Crazy Diamond to heal himself also has shown how selfless he can be. Even when he is personally threatened he will face danger head on to heal an injured friend.
Oh, and although that hairstyle of his might be a little bit outdated, being fashionable is very important to him. As a student he has an obligation to dress in uniform he at one point makes note of his brand name socks and shoes.
Josuke is generally dependable to count on to do The Right Thing but a hole in his moral code seems to exist when there is a chance to make money. Josuke is not above cheating and lying in order to make a buck, especially when he’s low on funds. On one occasion he and his friends use their stand abilities to cheat a new year’s lottery, and on another he uses another friend’s ability to shapeshift to his advantage by rigging a dice game.
But really, besides that his moral compass is right on! He might not look it but he is very polite to grown ups and everything!
His school life is largely a mystery besides being revealed early on that he is quite popular with his lady classmates- and everyone else I guess, he’s just a likeable guy! The validity of his likeability lies in the number of enemies he manages to turn into allies and friends. Even though he is so popular with the girls he apparently does not have a girlfriend and there is never any mention of having one in the past. In fact he doesn’t even show much interest in romance at all.
As a student Josuke is probably no better than average. It’s not that Josuke is remarkably dumb but he does end up most often goofing off with his friend Okuyasu Nijimura (remember what I said about his enemies becoming friends? this guy is one of those guys!) who is notably “not the brightest character”. Josuke might not always be the brightest when palling around with Okuyasu but when it matters he can be crafty and innovative in the use of his stand.
Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Initially Josuke may be indifferent to the war as he was to the conflict he found himself in in the JJBA canon. As he makes friends at Soul Campaign and as he recognizes the way the war affects their lives as well as his own he will realize the importance of action. He likely would decide that in order to save his friends from hardship he will have to participate by assisting in the effort.
List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
Josuke will retain his higher than average physical strength because there’s nothing magical about being a buff high school student.
List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
Josuke will lose his ability to use his stand, Crazy Diamond, and all of its abilities.

Weapon Form:
Josuke would be a 15 inch adjustable wrench. Like one of these!
The typical uses of a wrench are similar to Crazy Diamond’s ability to disassemble and reassemble things. Like Josuke had to think creatively to use his stand when faced with trouble, the meister partnered with Josuke would have to do the same.
But in a pinch it can probably do just fine as a makeshift blunt weapon. Talk about versatility!
